Tucows TUCOWS - The Ultimate Collection of Winsock Applictions *
One of my, if not THE, most used file download sites on the Net. An excellent source for shareware/commercial demos. If you only venture to here, you are well within the mainstream of the file flow of the Internet.
Stoud's Stroud's Consummate Winsock Applications *
A good secondary (and sometimes primary!) bookend for TUCOWS. Some duplication with TUCOWS but enough different to make it worth the trip. If you are looking for the "latest and greatest" of something, Stroud's beats TUCOWS to the punch just often enough to make it worthwhile to visit.
Nonags NoNags *
Some overlap with TUCOWS, but mostly different material. This site leans more toward the freeware/hassle-free shareware type offerings. This site claims to "install, test, and rate" what they list and I have no reason to disbelieve them.
Dave Central Dave Central Software Archive *
Dave Franklin, a self-proclaimed "hunter-gatherer", has a possible rival to TUCOWS. Definitely more "commercials", but a very good source nonetheless. Just when you decide you don't need to go here, Dave will post a "gooder" of which noone else has even heard.
Shareware.com CNET's SHAREWARE.COM *
Part of the CNET offering, you know, one of those websites on TV. A nice search engine for the "latest and greatest" for PCs and well as for MACs. Don't let the TV show influence your decision about the usefulness of the site. This is worth your visit, especially if you lean toward games.
Download.com CNET's DOWNLOAD.COM *
What's the difference between SHAREWARE.COM and DOWNLOAD.COM? Don't know. Both of them are worth a bookmark. If you are a Netscape/Microsoft Beta Browser junkie, check here or BROWSER.COM. There have been times when these have been the "first" links to the "latest and greatest" beta offerings, even prior to Netscape/Microsoft!.
Windows95.com WINDOWS95.COM *
A well-organized site with both files and information relating to Windows95 and Windows NT. An excellent source for utilities, productivity programs etc. that are not necessarily Internet related.
Jumbo.com JUMBO.COM *
A file site that you don't want to miss, a varity of various type files. screen savers, internet files, non internet files, games, business, edu, another great source!
File Dudes File Dudes *
Another feature packed download site of up to date archives, this site houses Onsite Softwares own releases as well as all top release Shareware, Freeware & public domain finds!
